Chieng graduated from the University of Newcastle with Bachelor of Podiatry (Distinction) in 2018. Throughout the degree, she was exposed to diabetic footcare management, orthoses manufacturing, lower limb biomechanical injury management and podiatric surgery. Chieng volunteered to provide footcare service in the Aboriginal communities in New South Wales. As a result, she developed the huge interest in the Aboriginal Health.

Chieng is originally from Malaysia and moved to Australia in 2016 to complete her tertiary education. She realised how negligence of foot health in the society especially among the diabetic populations in Malaysia. She always believes that good quality of footcare management will improve the overall wellbeing of an individual. This inspires her to pursue her career in the podiatry in order to provide the footcare service to those who really need it.

During the leisure time, Chieng continues to master her cooking and baking skills as well as enjoys discovering good Malaysian cuisine. Chieng also plays badminton and would like to try adventure sports one day.

Chieng speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Malay. She is also an active member of Australian Podiatry Association.
